NATCHITOCHES - Central Catholic’s Meoshonti Knight and Christian Life Academy’s Johnathan Stove built their resumes by doing a variety of things for their respective teams. The two senior standouts can now add one more thing to their list of accomplishments.

Knight and Stove headline the Class 1A All-State basketball teams selected by a panel of sportswriters from across the state.

The 5-foot-8 Knight, an Alabama signee, was selected as the Most Valuable Player on the 1A girls squad and Stove, a 6-4 Louisiana-Lafayette signee, led Christian Life to the 1A quarterfinals with 25.9 points and 10.9 rebounds to be selected boys MVP.

Central Catholic’s Jamarr Garrett and Lafayette Christian’s Bryon Starks claimed the Coach of the Year honors for the LSWA teams.

White Castle senior Swayne Edwards, a first-team District 8-1A selection and junior Skylar O’Bear, a second-team pick, were chosen to the honorable mention teams, respectively.

Edwards averaged 11 points, six assists and three steals per game and O’Bear averaged 16.9 points, 8.7 assists, 5.5. rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
