White Castle High Bulldogs advance in playoffs after overpowering Basile High's Bearcats, 93-30

Led by roundball standout Keyon Giroir, the White Castle Bulldogs bulldozed the Bearcats of Basile High Friday in the first round of the playoffs by the overwhelming score of 93-30.

The perennial basketball powerhouse Bulldogs, seeded No. 4 in the playoffs, will have to get past No. 13 seed Logansport on Tuesday, just after deadline.

Giroir lit up the scoreboard with 17 points and added 12 rebounds and a block to the winning effort.

Javier Batiste put 12 points in lights in the win and played a complete game, adding five rebounds, four steals and an assist in Friday’s showcase win, while Unique Young, another familiar Bulldog name, added 12 points to the win, an assist, two rebounds and two steals.

Adding 10 points, three assists, two steals and two rebounds to the Bulldogs winning effort was Javier Batiste, almost a mirror image of Cartier Young’s statistics – 10 points, two assists, three rebounds, two rebounds and three steals.

Next on the list of contributors in the huge win was Kenneth Bracken with seven points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds.

Tamarcus Fair posted six points in the game and added an assist and a block to the Bulldogs’ statistics, while Darius Reneau nearly matched Fair’s stats with six points, a rebound and a block.

Jeremie Richard put up four points, and added a rebound and a steal, while Shawn Stevenson added two points, two rebounds, two steals and an assist, and Kevon Giroir added his own pair of points, four rebounds, two assists and a block.
