NEW ROADS - Catholic of Pointe Coupeee raced out to a 41-point halftime lead before taking a 41-8 non-district victory over East Iberville on Friday night.

The Tigers (0-3), under coach John Young, were outgained in total yardage 381-147.

Tiger quarterback Junius Chong completed 7-of-19 passes for 136 yards.

Landon LeMay rushed for three touchdowns for the Hornets. Conner Meche added two rushing touchdowns and Dennis Guice completed 10-of-15 passes for 152 yards.

Andrew Jarreau's 41-yard pass from Guice put Catholic-P.C. on the board before touchdown runs by Meche and LeMay from 10 and 3 yards made it 20-0 still in the first quarter.

LeMay's 31-yard run pushed the lead to 41-0 afte his 8-yard touchdown run and Meche's 3-yard run to paydirt.

Joseph Bailey ran in the conversion on East Iberville's touchdown in the third quarter to reflect the final tally.

East Iberville hosts Class 3A Northeast on Friday night in St. Gabriel.
