Plaquemine's Distefano, Maracalin highlight All-Metro team

BATON ROUGE - Plaquemine Senior High School won the program's first district title in football in 11 years and advanced to the quarterfinal playoffs for the first time in 26 years this season.

The Green Devils were recently honored when senior running back Julius Maracalin and head football coach Paul Distefano were selected All-Metro Offensive MVP and Coach of the Year.

Plaquemine finished 10-3 overall this season and 4-0 in District 6-4A play.

Senior offensive lineman Damarcus Jenkins and linebacker Orlando Batiste were also selected to the team.
