Tara High's quarterback spent Friday night facing a lot of pressure from Green Devil defenders.

The home team Green Devils of Plaquemine High put four touchdowns on the scoreboard in the first quarter and never looked back in their walloping of the visiting Tara Trojans -- the final score was 41-7.

At the end of the first quarter, Plaquemine High led by 27 points -- a PAT was missed -- earning the points with four touchdowns scored by three players.

Herbert Thomas put the first six points on the board on a spectacular 58-yard dash, capped off with a Braydon David point after, then added another six with about three minutes left in the first quarter on a 15-yard rush. Again, David tacked on the PAT.

In between Thomas' two scores, Michael Sproles added to the Green Devils' total with 14-yard rushing TD, but this time David's kick was errant, leaving the score at 20-0.

Cody Willis added another touchdown at the 5:39 mark in the first quarter on a 17-yard reception from Thomas and this time David's PAT was true.

Tara's scores came on a 27-yard field goal in the second quarter, moving the score to 20-3 for the first half.

After a third quarter 2-yard touchdown rush by Thomas, the Trojans would score their only TD and their final points of the game on an 8-yard run. David once again put the PAT through the uprights to add the extra point.

With only 1:05 left in the game, the Green Devils put the last points on the board and in the stats with a 2-yard rushing touchdown, followed by another David PAT.
