White Castle's Marcus Williams (8) tries to get to an opposing quarterback in a game earlier this season.

Hopes for a win were dashed early in the 48-6 loss the White Castle Bulldogs were handed by the hosting Kentwood Kangaroos.

The now 6-0 Kangaroos scored repeatedly in the first quarter to drive the score to 32-0 at the end of the first quarter, a score that held until halftime.

Following a scoreless second quarter, the visiting White Castle Bulldogs posted their only score of the night to slightly close the gap, but it was extended again by Kentwood inthe same quarter with the Kangaroos scoring eight of their own.

The end of the third quarter saw a scoreboard heavily favoring the Kangaroos at 40-8. Tacking on to the scoring mismatch was another eight points Kentwood posted in the fourth quarter.

Next up for the Kentwood Kangaroos are the East Iberville Tigers in St. Gabriel, a home game for the Tigers, on Thursday. East Iberville will put its 4-2 record on the line in the game and hopes to add a win following a 42-14 loss to Ascension Catholic last Friday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

The loss drops White Castle's record to 2-4 and sets the Bulldogs up for a home game against the St. John Eagles, whose record is 3-3 following a loss to Southern Lab last week, and its potent offense in a district matchup Friday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
