Kaden Moreau’s patience paid off as he finally got the chance at an FBS school he was seeking for.

The senior offensive lineman announced his commitment to Louisiana on  Monday.

“I’m relaxed,” Moreau said. “The recruiting process can be crazy, but I waited for a little while and they picked me up. I’m just very thankful, very blessed and I’m really happy.”

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Moreau is a two-time All-District 2-5A first teamer and had received offers from several Southland Conference schools such as Northwestern State, Nicholls and Southeastern Louisiana.

The Cajuns kept in contact with him after he performed well at their camp in the summer, but they picked up their interest after the early signing period.

Pineville's Kaden Moreau (77, left) blocks Tioga's Tyler Boyd (36, right) in a game held Friday, Sept. 17, 2021 at The Reservation in Tioga.

With UL winning the Sun Belt West Division the last four years, finishing the year ranked in the Top 25 the last two and winning the Sun Belt title this season, the opportunity was too good to pass up.

“It’s the best option for me right now and a good place to go to,” Moreau said. “It’s definitely the place you want to be at right now.”

Moreau’s senior season ended with the Rebels missing the playoffs at 3-7, but he helped them reach the playoffs as a junior in 2020 when they went 3-4 and lost in the first round to Central-Baton Rouge.

“My teammates and the people were definitely the best things (about Pineville),” Moreau said. “There was always school spirit and the teammates were uplifting. They always had each other’s backs. It was a great atmosphere and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
