Lutcher trips up Lady Devils

LUTCHER – Lutcher scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim a 6-5 victory over Plaquemine and control of District 6-4A standings on Tuesday evening.

The Lady Green Devils (14-8, 4-1), under coach Mary Gaye David, also defeated Tara 19-0 on Thursday and St. Michael the Archangel 15-4 on Tuesday.

Plaquemine hosts Lutcher Thursday and travels to St. John Friday before wrapping up the regular season hosting Assumption Tuesday and Runnels Wednesday.

Avarie Louque picked up the win for Lutcher and added a two-run double in the seventh inning.

Chelsie Kinler’s infield hit brought Raelynn Lambert home with the winning run.

Kameryn Fairchild was 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI for Plaquemine and Mia Johnson was 2-for-4 with one RBI.
