St. John Lady Eagles earn four spots on All-Metro softball team

The post-season accolades just keep rolling in for the St. John Lady Eagles, who made it into the state playoffs this year with their excellent softball skills.

Named to the first team from St. John are infielders Alise Wille and Kaylee Sadden, while pitcher Samantha Landry and outfielder Madison Young were selected for the All-Metro’s second team.

The MVP for the All-Metro team is Olivia Lackie of Holden High while named to the position of Coach of the Year are Holden High’s Lindsey Cifreo and Amanda Decell of Doyle High.

The entire All-Metro team for teams in districts 3A and below include, first team first, pitchers Mary-Cathryn Comeaux of Brusly High, Olivia Lackie of Holden High, Marley Olivier of Doyle High and Brittany Turner of Albany High.

Catchers named to the All-Metro first team were Ashley Fogg of Holden High and Caroline Gassie of Brusly High.

The infielders who made it to the first team are Brusly High’s Kyana Thymes, Alise Wille and Kaylee Sadden of St. John School, Adelyn Fisher of Catholic High of Pointe Coupee and Alicia Canatella of Ascension Catholic.

Outfielders on the list include Angel Bradford of Brusly High, Holden High’s Gracie Duffy, Sydney Taylor of Doyle High and Bailey Acosta of Ascension Catholic.

The utility players, those who play multiple positions, on the first team include Catholic of Pointe Coupee’s Blaire Bizette, Baker High’s Tia Young, Emma Hutchinson of Holden High, Hanna Ogea of University High, Doyle High’s Caitlinn Fruge and Elise Jones and Kaitley Fisher of Catholic of Pointe Coupee.
