Plaquemine competes in Capital City Swim League

BATON ROUGE - Plaquemine Senior High School’s swim team competed in the Capital City Swim League meet on Saturday mid-day at Crawfish Aquatics.
The Green Devils are coached by Tara Shamsie. Plaquemine’s boys team placed seventh with 145 points. The Lady Devils finished eighth with 89 points.
Matthew Gaudet placed third in the boys 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.64.
Grace Sanchez was third in the girls 100-yard freestyle finishing in 1:04.26 and seventh in the girls 100-yard breaststroke touching in 1:26.24.
Maddie Zeringue placed sixth in the girls 100-yard freestyle finishing in 1:0835.
Joshua Boudreaux took fifth in the boys 100-yard breaststroke timing in at 1:17.59, while John Hestand was sixth in 1:23.64 and Timothy Dean ninth in 1:25.66.
Also competing for Plaquemine in boys events were Gage Vidrine, Luke Graves, Nathan Allen, Jacob Allen, Hunter LeJeune, Donald Jones, Jake Morgan, Hayden Morales, Nico Anzaldua, Noel Anzaldua and Sam Hestand.

Plaquemine will compete again Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 a.m. The City Championship is scheduled for Nov. 2-3.
