PHS’ Williams places third at state indoor meet

BATON ROUGE – Plaquemine’s Tori Williams placed third in the Division I girls’ 55-meter dash at the LHSAA Indoor Championships Feb. 23 at LSU’s Field House.
Williams crossed in 7.17 seconds for third place behind Baton Rouge’s Mikiah Brisco (7.02) and McDonogh No. 35 Marquita Stalbert (7.14.).
Plaquemine’s Hakeem Deggs also placed fifth in the Division I boys’ 55-meter dash with a time of 6.51. Northside’s Shakier Ryan won the event in 6.38.
East Iberville’s Reggie Brock placed eight in the Division II boys’ shot put with a hurl of 42 feet and ¾.
Keionne Octave, of East Iberville, also placed ninth in the Division II girls’ 400-meter dash finishing in 1:03.92 and was 10th in the girls’ 55-meter dash crossing in 7.62.
East Iberville’s Tony Westly placed 11th in qualifying of the Division II boys’ 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.30.
