Lady Devils win three at Tara Tourney

PLAQUEMINE - Plaquemine (9-7) won three at the Tara Tournanemnt this weekend.

The Lady Green Devils, under coach John Badeaux, defeated Scotlandville 25-7, 25-21, Livonia 25-23, 25-27 and Southern Lab 25-11, 25-18 against losses to Walker 23-25, 20-25 and Woodlawn-B.R. 12-25, 25-23, 11-15.

Plaquemine opened District 4-II play with losses to Broadmoor 21-25, 25-20, 10-25, 21-25 and Belaire 23-25, 8-25, 25-22, 25-27.

The Green Devils return to district play today at Central of Baton Rouge before traveling to St. Michael the Archangel on Tuesday.

Oneisha Batiste led the Lady Devils against Belaire with five kills, 10 digs and nine assists. Heather Honore had six kills and 14 assists, Amber Harris added four kills and seven digs and Darylniece Tillman had 12 kills.

Batiste had four kills, assist and two aces against Scotlanville. Honore had eight assists, Harris five kills and Tillman six kills.

Kamryn Landry had 12 digs against Walker, while Tillman had four kills and Batiste three.

Tillman had five kills and three blocks against Livonia, while Honore had five assists and four aces, Harris six aces and three kills and Rachel Ellis two kills.

Tillman had five kills and four aces in the quarterfinals against Southern Lab. Harris had three kills and Kayla Landry four digs.

In the semifinal loss to Woodlawn, Tillman had nine blocks and four kills, Batiste three kills and five assists and Honore three kills, five digs and five assists.
